A NEW PERSPECTIVE
Minorities in Advertising started off in 2013 as a small group of female, multicultural advertising students thinking "Wait, there's not many of us in this industry..." And it all went up from there.
Our goal is to increase knowledge of advertising opportunities available for multicultural students, create a community to foster networking relationships as well as promote diversity in the communications field. We stand on 3 pillars of Professionalism, Diversity, and Networking. We are at first a professional organization, trying to promote minority professionals to learn the necessary skills to be successful. With this organization we plan to diversify the advertising students on UT campus and environments in the industry as a whole. While networking, we plan to connect students with professionals as well as other minority-advertising students.
But above all, we want to provide a brand new perspective of the industry. Being a minority is not exclusive to race, but also applies to gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, and more.
